Oriental Bittersweet (OB) is an invasive species that is becoming an increasing threat on the riverway. It is a vine that can choke out native species and displace other vegetation.
There will be a half hour training followed by monitoring on the river.
Training will cover:
- OB Identification
- Mapping OB on GPS Units
- What information is needed on Data Sheet for each GPS point
Supplies will be provided: Kayaks, Paddles, PFDs, GPS Units, Water bottles, Data Sheets, and Suncreen
Volunteers will be able to register for monitoring the river shoreline by powerboat, pontoon or kayak.
Please bring lunch/snacks for the River and dress appropriately!
