Investigating Invasives: Invasive Plant ID Hike

May 4 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

FREE

Join the St. Croix River Association (SCRA), Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Park and St. Croix Red Cedar CWMA for an invasive plant ID hike at Willow River State Park.

Learn about the impacts of these pesky plant species and how you can get rid of them. We will have a few different field guides available to help you identify native and non-native plants as we go and will offer some demonstrations of how to report and record invasive plants you find. To put your knowledge to the test, we will play a little invasive species trivia game along the way.

Hike Information:

Trip Rating: 1 (This will be a gentle and slow hike with plenty of stops)

Distance: 1.5 mile hike

Important Reminders: If this event is canceled due to inclement weather, we will post a notification on SCRA’s Facebook page and we will do our best to contact registered participants.

Please be sure to come prepared with sun protection, water bottle and insect repellent. Comfortable closed-toe shoes and weather appropriate hiking attire are strongly recommended.

Cost: Event is FREE, but a WI State Park Pass will be needed for entry. ($8 state park day use pass available upon entry). Donations are greatly appreciated!
